Abstract:

  The interplay between electron-electron interaction and topology of Bloch electrons in topological materials recently has attracted considerable attentions from both experimental and theoretical aspects. In this talk, we would focus on the novel plasmons in topological materials. (1) We found that the inverted band structure with the Mexican-hat dispersion could enhance the interband correlation leading to a strong tunable intrinsic plasmon excitation. The electron-hole asymmetric term breaks the particle-hole symmetry, splitting the peak of the plasmon excitation into double peaks. The fate of the plasmon excitation can serve as a probe to characterize the topological phases even in lightly doped systems. (2) We studied the chiral edge plasmons in quantum anomalous Hall insulators and find some remarkable features. We also offered a quantitative explanation for the recent observation of the chiral edge plasmon in quantum anomalous Hall insulators. (3) We observed three nodal-line plasmons in toplogical semimetal ZrSiS and revealed their physical origins. (4) We found three anomalous plasmons due to the tilting of Dirac cones in two dimensions and discuss the impacts of the effective chiral electron-light interaction on the plasmons.

报告人简介:

  周建辉,中国科学院强磁场科学中心研究员,博士生导师。2006年本科毕业于四川师范大学,2012年博士毕业于中科院物理所,随后在美国卡内基梅隆大学和香港大学从事博士后研究,2018年4月加入中科院强磁场科学中心。一直从事凝聚态体系中贝里相位相关的新颖物性的理论研究,目前主要关注拓扑材料的反常输运理论、新奇准粒子物理(激子、等离激元)以及量子反常相关的物理效应,多个理论预言被实验证实。迄今在Physical Review Letters、Nature Communications、Advanced Materials、 Physical Review B等期刊发表论文三十篇。
