应国际功能材料量子设计中心的邀请,2月21日,西班牙Center for Materials Physics,CSIC-UPV/EHU and DIPC的Prof. Javier Aizpurua前来实验室进行学术交流与访问,并为感兴趣的师生们做“Plasmonic Nanonoantennas: building blocks for nanoscale control of optical fields”的学术报告。
Javier Aizpurua studied physics at the University of Zaragoza (Spain). He received his PhD at the University of the Basque Country on the theory of plasmon excitation by fast electron beams. After research positions at Chalmers University of Technology (Gothenburg, Sweden) where he developed theory of light emission in STM configurations, and at NIST (Gaithersburg, USA) where he studied optical properties of quantum dots and nanoantennas, he joined the research staff at the Donostia International Physics Center (DIPC) in Spain. He currently holds a position as senior researcher of the Spanish Council for Scientific Research (CSIC) at the Center for Materials Physics (CMP) in San Sebastian, developing theoretical research on nano-optics. Aizpurua is now the Head of the Nanophotonics Group at CMP. His group mainly focuses on the study of the optical response of nanoantennas, plasmonics, field-enhanced spectroscopies, and modeling of light-matter interaction in the nanoscale. He has been recognized worldwide for his work in nanophotonics/ nanoplasmonics, and has published more than 80 publications in international journals.
