应低维物理与化学研究部张广照教授的邀请,11月25日,美国University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign的Prof. Steve Granick前来实验室进行学术交流与访问,并为广大师生做“Single Particle Imaging of Cells, Colloids, and Polymers”的学术报告。
Professor Granick received his B.A. cum laude from Princeton University in 1978 and his Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1982. He joined the faculty of the University of Illinois in 1985 following postdoctoral research at the Collège de France with P.-G. de Gennes and at the University of Minnesota with Matthew Tirrell. His research interests are in the areas of single-molecule methods, polymers, complex fluids, and biomaterials. He is the fellow of American Physical Society, the Associate, Center for Advanced Study, UIUC. And the editorial board member of Journal of Physical Chemistry, Journal of Polymer Science B, Polymer and Tribology Letters. During 2004-2005, he had been the Vice-Chair, Division of Polymer Physics, American Physical Society. He is also guest professor of many famous universities in the world.
