美国马里兰大学王育煌教授前来我室进行学术交流与访问

应我室原子分子科学研究部杨上峰教授的邀请，7月22日，美国Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, University of Maryland的王育煌教授前来我室进行学术交流与访问，并为我室师生做“Confined propagation of a covalent chemistry in an electron sea”的学术报告。
Prof. Yuhuang Wang obtained his PhD in 2005 from Rice University (supervisor: Richard Smalley, Nobel Laureate in Chemistry). He then joined Northwestern University as a postdoctoral associate (advisor: Chad A. Mirkin). Since August 2008 he has been an Assistant Professor of Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, University of Maryland (http://www2.chem.umd.edu/groups/wang).
Prof. Yuhuang Wang has several fields of interest, including Ultra-selective Carbon Network Chemistry, Nanoelectrode Networks for Energy Storage and Harvesting, “Seeded Crystalization” of Nanostructures: From Discrete Nanoparticles to Organized Solids. He published 47 international journal articles including Nature Commun., JACS (>2,115 citations) and holds 5 issued and 4 licensed patents. He was the member of National Science Foundation review panels (2010) and served as the Symposium Organizer of 237th ACS meeting. He is the recipients of NSF CAREER Award (2011), ACS Petroleum Research Fund Doctoral New Investigator (2010), Rice Alumni Spotlight, Wiess School of Natural Sciences, Rice University (2010).
