 DESCRIPTION

Our lab has been focusing in the field of neurochemical mechanism of brain functions and brain diseases for a long period. We are developing the multi-scale technology platforms for research of brain small molecules such as single-cell mass spectrometry, single-organelle mass spectrometry, mass spectrometry imaging. Our studies focus on the changes of small molecule metabolites in the brain during aging and neurodegeneration, and the roles of these changed small molecules in the brain aging and neurodegeneration. We are investigating the neuronal circuit mechanism of sensory (especially pain) processing and its related neurological disorders, such as chronic inflammatory pain and allodynia and hyperalgesia in neuropathic pain. We are also developing new therapeutic medicine and treatment to relieve chronic pain.
