报告介绍 | Abstract:
I brief overview of my life's work will be given, starting with my MSc project in vibronic coupling in benzene and naphthalene, then moving through a 24-year project leading to the assignment of the visible absorption spectrum of chlorophyll. How this can be used to make a general model describing most chemical reactions will then be shown, focusing on a smooth transition between adiabatic and nonadiabatic processes. Finally, a side product coming from the development of new strategies for characterizing systems involving vibronic coupling: the discovery of a new (and final) fundamental form of stereoisomerism.
