报告介绍 | 报告摘要:
Spintronics is a field of general interest, which aims to utilize the spin degree freedom of electrons for novel information storage and logic devices. In this talk, I will discuss the spin dependent properties of graphene that make it a promising candidate material for spintronics. First part of my talk will answer the question: why graphene is a good spin channel material. I will present the experimental observation of long spin lifetime and spin diffusion lengths in graphene, which are already much better than conventional metals and semiconductors at room temperature. Second part of my talk will discuss how to make graphene magnetic and how to detect the magnetic moments in graphene. Ferromagnetic graphene be potentially a good material for information storage due to its ultrathin property. At the end of this talk, I will briefly discuss the future of graphene spintronics.
