报告介绍
报告摘要:
SI-traceability is the property of a measurement whereby the measurement's value is tied by an unbroken chain to measurement standards, usually national and international standards coupled to the SI system of units. Comparing measurements of various climate variables such as solar irradiance, sea surface temperature, atmospheric chemistry and constituents, the earth's albedo, etc. requires absolute accuracy in order to study trending over time and to compare results with different monitoring instruments (usually satellites).
In this presentation, we would like to be begin by discussing traceability in general. NIST has had a longstanding collaboration with the agencies NASA and NOAA in order to transfer SI-traceable calibration to environmental satellites. A key goal is to have an unbroken time series of environmental measurements of appropriate for long-term planning. We will also discuss present efforts to make progress in greenhouse-gas monitoring.
