报告介绍 |
Abstract: In this talk, I will introduce our progress on engineering quantum anomalous Hall effect (QAHE) in graphene systems. Graphene itself is a nonmagnetic material. Through external means (doping 3d metal atoms, or using a substrate), graphene can become magnetized and its spin-orbit coupling can be greatly enhanced. We show that the synergy between Zeeman field and Rashba spin-orbit coupling can open a nontrivial bulk gap supporting a QAHE [1]. We give a microscopic theory to understand its physical formation mechanism [2,3]. We further provide some evidence for the possible realization in experiment [4,5]. Some interesting topological phases (tunable QAHE, tunable quantum valley Hall effect, and 2D TI) in gated bilayer graphene will also be introduced [2,6,7].
