Sensors developed based on Guided-Mode Resonance (GMR) structure provide unique features that are suitable for detecting biological analytes. This seminar will discuss the GMR enhanced fluorescence assay that takes advantage of the strengthened evanescent field on GMR surface, where it interacts with the immobilized fluorescent biomaterials. The GMR enhancement capability significantly improves the reliability and sensitivity of antibody microarray and thus facilitates early-cancer diagnostics. This sensor has also been incorporated into the next generation genome sequencing tool to boost the detection speed. The second part of the seminar will focus on the surface emitting organic distributed feedback (DFB) laser biosensor, which was designed to improve the sensitive of the original GMR label-free biosensor. The DFB laser sensor generated its own high-intensity narrow bandwidth output and was demonstrated to be potentially useful in pharmaceutical screening for characterizing biomolecular interactions including protein-protein binding and antibody-cell binding. 报告人简介: 吕蒙博士本科毕业于中国科学技术大学,博士毕业于美国伊利诺伊大学(University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign);专业均为电子与计算机工程。随后,吕蒙博士先后任职于美国麻省SRU生物公司(SRU Biosystems Inc.)研发部任研究员(2009 - 2011年),伊利诺伊大学任博士后(2012年 - 至今),并将于2013年在爱荷华州立大学(Iowa State University)电子与计算机工程系任助理教授。吕蒙博士的研究方向包括生物传感器、纳米材料、细胞成像等领域,并已在国际高水平学术期刊上发表二十多篇研究论文。 |
