Prof. Vasyutinskii is famous because of his researches about the stereodynamics and vector correlations in chemical and photochemical reactions. He suggested and recorded for the first time the effect of spin-orientation atomic photofragments produced in molecular dissociation. He also developed a rigorous quantum mechanical approach to treating angular momentum polarization in photodissocation and in ion image data.
