报告介绍 | 报告摘要:
I will report some of our recent studies on polymers that are responsive to a variety of stimuli such as light, ultrasound and carbon dioxide. In order to make polymers responsive to stimuli in a controllable and predictable manner, or in a way to accomplish a function, we have developed new methods. The studies which I will discuss include 1) near infrared light-sensitive polymer micelles and hydrogels, 2) light and ultrasound-controllable shape-memory polymers, and 3) CO2-switchable polymers. 报告人简介:
Yue Zhao received his BSc in 1982 from Chengdu University of Science and Technology (now Sichuan University). After obtaining his PhD at the École Supérieure de Physique et de Chimie Industrielles de Paris (ESPCI) under the supervision of Lucien Monnerie, he came to Canada for postdoctoral studies with Robert Prud’homme at the Université Laval. He started his academic career in 1991 as assistant professor at the Université de Sherbrooke, and became associate professor in 1995 and full professor in 2000. Zhao’s main research interests are the design, synthesis and study of self-assembled, nanostructured and stimuli-responsive polymers and liquid crystalline materials, as well as their exploration for potential applications. |
