Co3O4 is a versatile and multi-functional material with exciting applications in catalysis, electrocatalysis, Li-ion batteries and solar selective absorbers. I will talk about the growth mechanism of Co3O4 nanowire arrays, their electrocatalytic properties toward oxygen evolution reaction, and their use in Li-ion batteries. I will also discuss our work on graphene-based composites for Li-ion batteries. Finally, I will discuss oxide semiconductors for dye sensitized solar cells (DSCs) Zinc stannate (Zn2SnO4) will be used as an example for our systematical study on the energetics of the conduction band and valence band of Zn2SnO4 nanoparticles by optical, electrochemical and photoelectrochemical methods and their promising uses in DSCs

报告人简介
Yiying Wu是美国俄亥俄州立大学化学系助理教授。Yiying Wu教授1998年毕业于中国科学技术大学化学物理系,获学士学位;2002年在美国University of California(Berkeley) 获博士学位,导师杨培东教授;然后去University of California(Santa Barbara)化学与生物化学系从事博士后研究,合作导师Prof. Galen D. Stucky。2005年至今在The Ohio State University化学系任助理教授。他的主要研究兴趣主要包括太阳能电池光电转化;染料敏化电池和低维纳米材料的合成与设计。在Nature Materials, J. Am. Chem. Soc., Angew. Chem. Int. Ed.等著名期刊上发表论文40多篇及数项专利。
