报告介绍 | 完整报告题目: Differential Electrochemical Mass Spectrometry as a tool for Electrocatalytic Studies: the role of monoatomic steps
报告人研究方向: The main research activity of the electrochemistry group is electrocatalysis. This includes the examination of the role of the atomic structure and composition of the electrode surface on the adsorption and the kinetics of oxidation and hydrogenation of small organic molecules. For a better understanding of the action of cocatalysts (which should be helpful in an improvement of fuel cell catalysts), in our fundamental studies we use ordered bimetallic surfaces which we obtain by step decoration of regularly stepped Au and Pt single crystal surfaces with a second metal. Further research activities involve the electrocatalysis at nanoparticles, the nanostructuring of electrode surfaces and electrochemical gas sensors. Recently, we started to examine fundamental reactions at boron doped diamond electrodes and study friction on the atomic scale on electrode surfaces. Besides classical experimental methods such as impedance spectroscopy and the rotating ring disc electrode, the main experimental techniques used are scanning probe techniques and electrochemical mass spectrometry. |
